Saif Ali Khan’s Return in Race 4: What We Know
The recent announcement of the fourth film in the Race franchise has fans buzzing with excitement. The most thrilling aspect is the return of Saif Ali Khan, who was the lead in the first two films but was replaced by Salman Khan in Race 3.
Insights from the Writer
Shiraz Ahmed, the writer of Race 4 and the previous films, shared exclusive details in an interview with Bollywood Hungama. He stated, “Race 4 will go on floors in January (2025). The script is almost completed and so is the casting.” He confirmed that Saif Ali Khan and Sidharth Malhotra are confirmed for the cast, while further casting announcements will be made by Tips Films at the appropriate time.
A Return to Roots
Ahmed emphasized that Race 4 will continue the story and characters from Race 1 and Race 2. “We have gone back to the same world of the first two films,” he mentioned, promising fans a return to the franchise’s original essence.
Reflecting on Race 3
Despite Race 3 performing well at the box office, it faced criticism from fans and critics alike. Ahmed acknowledged this, saying, “In Race 3, we shifted a bit from the Race franchise in terms of characters. If you remove the title ‘Race’ from the film, you will enjoy it.” He added that audiences expected a certain experience, which was not delivered in Race 3 due to the casting of Salman Khan, who typically does not play negative roles.
Production Notes
Produced by Tips Films, the first two films in the Race franchise were directed by the duo Abbas-Mustan, while Remo D’Souza directed the third installment. The director for Race 4 has yet to be finalized.
