Malaika Arora’s Father Anil Arora Passes Away in Mumbai
Bollywood actress Malaika Arora suffered a personal loss as her father, Anil Arora, passed away on Wednesday, September 11. The initial reports suggested that he died by jumping off a building in Mumbai. However, no suicide note has been found as of now.
Malaika, who was not in the city at the time, immediately rushed to Mumbai upon hearing the tragic news of her father’s demise. Her ex-husband, Arbaaz Khan, was also seen at the building, named Ayesha Manor in Bandra East, where the incident occurred.
Who Was Anil Arora?
Anil Arora was the father of Bollywood actress Malaika Arora and her sister, Amrita Arora. He belonged to a Punjabi Hindu family from Fazilka, Punjab and served in the Indian Merchant Navy. Anil was married to Joyce Polycarp, a Malayalam Christian, with whom he had two daughters, Malaika and Amrita.
Although the couple divorced when Malaika was 11 years old, they maintained a cordial relationship. Despite the separation, both sisters shared a close bond with their father, often sharing heartfelt messages for him on social media on occasions like his birthday and Father’s Day.

In 2023, Malaika Arora was spotted leaving a Mumbai hospital with her father, Anil Arora, following his hospitalisation. While the reason for his medical condition was not disclosed, fans expressed their concern and sent well wishes through social media.
